school
Finally, after the long break, school started around the 4th of January here in Kuala Terengganu. Now I walk every morning to that building named Chung Hwa Wei Sin (except on rainy days where I desperately try to find any transportation to school – haha). My place is located in “Blok D” (is it Oo??), class 5 Alpha in a corner at the back – far away from the fan -.-! Sometimes a wind breeze comes to visit me - luckily xD.
As I have to take the mid – year – exam (and my German school wants to see the results. ._.) I have to study. Well, “my studying” here is not to be compared with mine in Germany. The other 38 in my class seem to be very concentrated this year…(remembering last year shouting, walking around etc.). Besides the fact that they’ll face their final exam, SPM, in the end of this year, I guess they have “begin of new school year motivation”.
Our school is divided into 4 houses, i.e. every student belongs to a house.
- yellow for RUSA (deer)
- green for GAJAH (elephant)
- blue for SELADANG (wild-ox)
- red for HARIMAU (tiger *miau*)
This reminds me to Hogwarts (Harry Potter)… they even have the same colours xD. We also try to collect points for our houses for instance on the sport day (10th of February).
Another one is the “Joggathon” (endurance run of 4km – jogging xD), which was on Tuesday. Last week we began to practice for that day.
I was the 2nd girl ...*freu* (habe also Punkte fuer Harimau gesammelt :D)! Next day they asked a few students to run for CHWS at KTS (?). So yesterday we gathered at the main gate and took the bus to SMK Bukit Besar. I guess all schools from Kuala Terengganu came to this competition with their best students. Finally, after 7 km, our school was quite good represented: One boy arrived as the 10th in his group (L18...kerle unter 18). The girls in the category P15 get the 2nd place for the group..thus it appears that they were also good individually..can't remember their places. P18, we won the 1st prize for the group ..*happyhappy*.
We all get a place under the 25th. I won 8th prize and another girl the 3rd...she was really good!! The first 15 students of each category are qualified to run for Terengganu. But I can't :(...because I'm not Malaysian.
So I'll keep my fingers crossed for the other ones :).
Next week we have Chinese - New - Year holidays :D...something of a rarity here...haha!! I think I have more holidays than school in M'sia. So tomorrow I'll be following a family to Kuala Lumpur.
...without camera :(. It would take 3 months (!!!) to repare it -.-"...don't have so much time to wait for my camera. So I guess I have to buy a new one or whatsoever.
I'll wish you all nice CNY celebration next week :D.

Big Holidays
As I didn't write for about two months, I'll give a short update. Ya, right, I've been too lazy lah xD. I even don't know where to start. Every single months I experience and learn a lot.. (would take to much time to write xD).
For Deepavali I moved to the Indian family of one of Giulia's classmates together with Naoko, Chiyuki and Giulia for four days. Already on the first day we played games and talked until early in the morning. We really had a lot of fun together. The mom (by the way...she cooks amazing^^) gave us the chance to wear her traditionell clothes and all that stuff. One of the only families here in Malaysia, where I felt like a real family member right after arriving there. They are so warmhearted and even now they would help us willingly. ahh... I really like them :D!!

Our two beloved Japanese girls :D had their End-of-Stay Camp and the other ones were also busy with AFS meetings. So that my 'Spatz' and me could enjoy ourselves in the meantime.

November
Holidays knocked on the door :D. (...have to look at my pictures to know where I went first^^...already forgot).
Before the Holidays started, I had the chance to go to a kind of survival camp with some of Form 3 (now Form 4). Some activities:
Rafting, group games, course (with things like moving hand over hand above water) and "solo drop"...means we had to follow a rope in the jungle..one by one in the darkness. Of course it began to rain heavily. I was already totally wet before I started the adventure trip through the brushwood.
Holiday summary:
Naoko, Chiyuki, Teacher Lucy, Yuan Ying, Giulia and me went by bus to Johor Baru. I think it took us almost 10 hours..boring ah. There we stayed at a chinese family ..with a very nice car xD (even the doors closed automatically xD). Finally after a quite long time...I stepped into a cinema. I kinda missed it the last months! After these few days in JB we went straight to...
...Melaka!!
For me one of the most beautiful cities in M'sia. A melange of history and modern life with a european touch. Our two beloved Japanese girls :D had their End-of-Stay Camp and the other ones were also busy with AFS meetings. So that my 'Spatz' and me could enjoy ourselves in the meantime.
December
In begin of December I missed the "Monsoon cup"...cannot believe. Once a year there's a big event which Terengganu is famous for and I couldn't make it to go there. Around the 7th I went to KL for Hari Raya Haji (8th). There we stayed with KL chapter leader for two nights. On the 8th we went to see the sacrifice of the cows ._. ..very disgusting. Afterwards I felt like vomitting and I couldn't see any meat. Just can't get the picture out of my head..pity cow standing there..kinda shaking and watching his cow-mates bleeding on the ground ._.!!
That night two other guys from the Johor chapter arrived and we shared our experiences. I really have respect for "hunter" - one of them - because he's staying next to the jungle! He told us that his hostfather took a water snake out of the river and said: "Now we can go bathing." His house is surrounded by plantages and his neighbours are wildboars and whatsoever..!!
Next day we went off heading to Penang for our Mid-Stay-Camp, i.e. we spent the most of the time in a room discussing and answering questiongs about our past six months. Anyway Penang is a great place :D...and hopely we're going there for Thaipusam *muhiiii*!
Directly after the afs-camp we took the bus to Johor Bahru - ESPlosion Camp!! (11th - 14th) Unfortunately, we arrived around midnight so that we missed one day *hmmpf*...! Thanks again to them who came to fetch us...so kind :). I remember Christina in trance..haha. It was really a great experience with lots of touching moments...especially during worship. Btw...big laudation to HG...you guys did an amazing "job" :).
..Another overnight in JB and on the 15th I passed the control and stepped on Singaporean ground :D. I stayed there with extended hostfamily for about one week.

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!!!
I guess many of you have some intents (like every year :D)for this imminent year 2009.so I want to encourage you not to lose your will to translate them into action. I'm sure you'll feel better if you can say "I managed it".
I'm really looking forward to 2009! One of the main reason?? - I'll become 18 (kinda hard to believe..) and I'll do my driver's license right after I go back to Germany. Oh ya..right..I'm going back to Germany, Magdeburg, my family and friends. I can't believe that it's almost 'Halftime' in Malaysia. The Time is passing by fast..somehow too fast. I still remember the day I left the airport in Berlin - actually the first time I really noticed that I'm going. It feels like one month ago and now I already have to think about the, so called, 'End-of-Stay Camp'. The very thought of it makes me feeling glad and saddish at the same time.
The whole year seems to be a long ride in an emotional roller coaster..
So I'll go for the next stroll!!
